Lawson P. Calhoun, Jr. is a native Atlantan with 33 years experience in residential real estate brokerage and construction. As a real estate salesman, managing broker, and now custom builder, Lawson has been involved in the construction and sale of hundreds of homes. He understands the needs of the home buyer, and as a result, Calhoun Properties, Inc, has earned a strong reputation for its commitment to quality, customer service, and creative building.
Lawson's building career began in Ashebrook, one of the finest luxury communities in North Atlanta. Since that great success, he has built in many other communities, including Fields Pond, Bishops Green, Waterford Green, Vinings Glen, Signal Hill, Asheforde, Edgemere, Sibley on Paper Mill, Madison Hall, River's Call, and Rivercliff.
As president of Calhoun Properties, Inc., Lawson is an active member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, the National Association of Home Builders, a board member of the Georgia Association of Home Builders, and a director of The Housing Institute, Inc. He is also a member of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of the Friends of the East Cobb Park. Lawson has won eight design awards from the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association. He has been nominated for an AURORA Award by the Southern Building Congress, and is a Code Plus builder, one of only 188 custom builders nationwide recognized for exceptional construction practices.
Lawson is a charter member of the national Builder 20 Club program, which is sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders. He was the only builder selected from the Southeast. Lawson and the other 20 Club members meet several times each year to share ideas and establish benchmarks regarding customer service, construction quality, and professional growth.
